Introduction
The role of our Work Health and Safety (WHS) Officer provides operational support and advisory service to workers and managers for WHS management purposes. This role will focus on the prevention of workplace accident and injuries, through providing education and a consultancy service to the wider business.
The Opportunity
- Coordinating and facilitating WHS services to managers and other staff where required. Promote WHS across the wider business
- Analyse WHS data to monitor accident and incident trends and provide reports were necessary.
- Monitor incident reports to ensure that incidents/accidents are appropriately investigated and provide provision to managers where required
- Assist with planning and conducting WHS audits and inspections to ensure the organisation can meet auditing requirements
- Provide support in the co-ordination and delivery of relevant WHS Training to staff
- Provide support for the Rehabilitation and Return to Work function to promote the early return to work for injured workers
- Promote a positive safety culture within the organisation
- Potential travel required to regional and remote locations
About you
- A relevant tertiary qualification in WHS or Similar field
- Proven experience in WHS role
- Excellent and fast paced processing and data entry skills using spreadsheets and other relative programs
- Strong problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Understanding of the unique health and safety risks and emergency response challenges in remote community settings
