The NDIS Consultant provides supports to NDIS participants in the School Leavers Employment Supports (SLES) program. They are required to adhere to all relevant MAX Solutions policies and procedures, ensuring that the National Standards for Disability Services and the NDIS Code of Conduct are upheld at all times.


This position fosters positive relationships with NDIS participants and their representatives to determine participant goals, key strengths, skills, opportunities for growth, and support requirements, in conjunction with key stakeholders. The consultant supports the participant to build their capacity via a combination of supports agreed to by the participant, including: training, group work, independent activities, one-to-one support, and work experience. The consultant works with the participant towards either a transition to DES and/or paid employment.


  • Schedule and conduct meet and greets with prospective NDIS participants and their representatives to promote MAX Solutions services and engage them in working with MAX Solutions
  • Conduct interviews with NDIS participants and their representatives to determine participant goals, key strengths and skills, opportunities for growth, and additional support requirements
  • Liaise regularly with MAX Solutions Health Service Officers to gain an accurate understanding of the participant’s health needs to determine suitable person-job fit
  • Conduct joint interviews with MAX Solutions Health Service Officers, the participant and their representative to discuss recommendations and collaboratively complete the participant NDIS/Employment plan
  • Deliver services to assist the participant and their representative to achieve their goals consistent with the NDIS guidelines including developing linkages with community access and skill enhancement activities
  • Attend and participate in NDIS events or training as a MAX Solutions representative as required
  • Network with key contacts in NDIS to promote and market MAX Solutions’ services including NDIA representatives, planners, local area coordinators, community agencies and services, health providers, NDIS providers and other key stakeholders
  • Work with the local business centre staff to develop networks, partnerships with local employers to provide suitable work experience placements for NDIS participants including job carving and redesigning of roles to suit participants’ needs
  • Ensure risk assessments of work experiences and workplaces are conducted in accordance with company policy and provide on-the-job support to assist NDIS participants to work in open employment
  • Assist with the training of staff by developing training material and participating in training workshops, webinars, or providing coaching on site as required
  • Perform duties to a high standard and ensure Key Performance Indicators, goals and milestones outlined in the NDIS participant’s plan are met, including completion of progress reporting
  • Delivering services in a manner that demonstrates respect and empathy for NDIS participants and their representatives adhering to the National Disability Standards and NDIS Code of Conduct at all times
  • Perform administration requirements in adherence to company policy and procedures
  • Regular travel between MAX Solutions sites and as required within territory for service provision (e.g. at workplace) and may include occasional interstate travel if required
  • Understand and comply to the relevant NDIS government guidelines and legislations and MAX Solutions’ contractual guidelines, quality systems, policies and procedures
  • Comply with all WHS procedures ensuring that team members including volunteers and contractors abide by all relevant health and safety procedures
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviours and report all accidents, incidents or near misses immediately.

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including Anti-discrimination, Equal Employment Opportunity, Workplace Health and Safety, Privacy and Freedom of Information.


Required Experience


  • Experience in Employment Services and/or Disability Services
  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals with diverse range of permanent disabilities
  • Proven experience in delivering efficient and effective strategies to positively engage with participants leading to positive and successful outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience assisting individuals with permanent disabilities to access and maintain employment including on-the job support provision.


Qualifications/Requirements - Mandatory


  • Driver’s licence
  • Willingness to complete other checks as required
  • We adhere to the National Principles for Child Safety and require all team members to be committed to child safety and wellbeing. Our induction and training will provide you an understanding of these principles, including having an understanding of children’s developmental needs and culturally safe practices.
  • Hold or have the ability to obtain a current Police Clearance and Working with Children Check


Qualifications/Requirements – Preferred but not essential


  • Qualification in Disability or Community Services desirable
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
