Permanent Full-time OR Part-time position in Wollongong


As a Disability Employment Services Placement Consultant you'll be doing so much more than finding jobs. You will be conducting a variety of functions including screening assessments, individual and group activities, case reviews, peer coaching and support, along with sustainability programs with employers.

You will also be responsible for linking quality health professional services to occupational goals and  working in conjunction with a range of stakeholders to deliver solutions to support ongoing sustainable employment.  

The opportunity

  • Managing a caseload of customers to help them find suitable and sustainable employment
  • Contacting local businesses to advocate for our customers
  • Working towards KPI’s
  • Identifying tasks that your customers could do and approaching businesses to create a role for your customers.
  • Supporting customers who have gained work by visiting them on the job and speaking with employers to identify any support
  • Linking our customers to health supports to help them become independent
  • Utilising Max and Government computer systems to record details of our plans and progress with customers
  • Working with customers to develop a plan to move them towards work. This may include identifying training options and external supports

About you

  • High level of interpersonal communication and organisational skills
  • Disability, Health or Employment sector experience is preferred
  • Ability to overcome objections, and break down employment barriers that exist for people with disability
  • Awareness of vulnerabilities to employment and the effects of unemployment
  • Effective, positive problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Hold a current Working with Children Card or willingness to obtain one  prior to being offered employment (reimbursement provided on commencement if successful)
  • Ability to obtain a police check (to be arranged through MAX).
