The opportunity

  • Undertaking pre-employment training, counselling and support for Indigenous customers to improve their confidence, motivation and work readiness
  • Coordinating external stakeholders and managing successful relationships
  • Working closely and engaging with a caseload of customers to assist them throughout their journey, from acceptance, to placement, to post-placement support
  • Providing mentoring and coaching to Indigenous participants post placement to ensure sustained employment
  • Liaising with community organisations, families and employers to ensure a successful employment placement

About you

  • Sound cross-cultural understanding and an insight into contemporary issues facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Previous mentoring and/or employment services experience highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience building rapport with internal and external stakeholders
  • Resilience with your ability to influence
  • Hold a current Blue Card (you will be required to obtain a Blue Card prior to being offered employment and reimbursement provided on commencement if successful)
