    Position Overview


    The Cost and Management Accountant is responsible for efficiently and accurately monitoring the costing of MAX Solutions, whilst adhering to company policies and accounting standards, tax and other legislation, and finance department procedures.


    The role will entail liaison with operational departments of the business.


    Key Responsibilities 

    • Preparing analytical review of Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet accounts for key operational sections of the business. Assistance in providing information for annual budgets and forecasts. These outputs will only be achieved by developing and maintaining strong relationships with Operational personnel to ensure budgets are met and continue to remain accurate
    • Dealing with queries from key operational business team members
    • Monitoring the profile and actual FTE numbers on a daily basis. Communicating discrepancies to key operational personnel
    • Preforming adhoc costing analysis and the affect movements in their drivers will have on the profit of the business and its components
    • Support the month end processing for Payroll expenses and accruals and their related journals and reconciliation to general ledger
    • Working with the Payroll team in assisting and posting the correct fortnightly payrun journals
    • Support and preparation of Month End balance sheet reconciliations (SOX Control)
    • Investigating and analysing general ledger accounts (including commentary)
    • Preparation of monthly journals, including accruals, recharges and internal cost transfers
    • Preparation of Overhead cost allocations
    • Statistical returns for Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS)
    • Assisting with adhoc duties as required
    • Comply with all WHS procedures ensuring that team members including volunteers and contractors abide by all relevant health and safety procedures
    • Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviours and report all accidents, incidents or near misses immediately.

    The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

    Required Experience

    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, with demonstrated costing analysis experience
    • Demonstrated experience in acting in a proactive manner to improve processes and procedures
    • Experience in the use of Dynamics/Great Plains financial system. 

    Qualifications/Requirements – Mandatory

    • Bachelor degree of Accounting or similar
    • Hold or have the ability to obtain a current Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.  

    Qualifications/Requirements – Preferred but not essential

    • Certified Practicing Accountant or working towards these certifications.
