Position Overview


The Learning and Development Partner is responsible for collaborating with the business to identify and confirm learning needs and priorities aligned to business requirements and business intelligence.  They are trusted partners who design and deliver effective learning solutions to maximise and improve the quality of the customer experience and service development. Identifying skills, knowledge and behavioural needs and planning, designing and delivering learning and development activities to meet these needs is key to this role.


Key Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with the business to help identify and confirm learning needs and priorities aligned to business requirements and business intelligence
  • Partner with Senior Managers and relevant Stakeholders to offer information, advice and guidance on all learning and development matters
  • Provide information, advice and guidance to Senior Managers to identify mandatory and non-mandatory learning and development needs for their teams and make recommendations for appropriate and cost-effective modes of delivery
  • Facilitate all aspects of the training intervention which includes overseeing all logistics which include organising required learning resources, diary coordination, catering requirements, workshop facilitation and evaluation
  • Support Managers with implementing and managing induction and learning and development plans for their teams
  • Produce performance driven reports for enabling and operational teams on learning and development activity relevant to their areas
  • Identify, shape and design new and different learning solutions, approaches and channels to enable effective learning and development across the business
  • Partner with Program functions to agree priority skills and capability gaps to address and create appropriate and relevant solutions
  • Deliver learning and development activities, including training sessions and workshops, within defined areas of expertise
  • Contribute to capability needs analysis exercises and identification of solutions/options as required
  • Participate in the creation of relevant and engaging training courses that are aligned to the organisation’s mission, vision, values and performance outcomes
  • Support the development, design, delivery and evaluation of management and leadership programmes
  • Ensure that all learning and development information and materials are of a high quality and reflect current legislation, regulatory guidance, policy and industry best practice
  • Build the capability of our leaders (Line Managers and HR Business Partners) so they can effectively support the delivery of learning and achieve organisational performance expectations
  • Monitor and evaluate business impact of core, leadership and functional capability development programmes and activities, taking action as necessary
  • Ensure compliance across mandatory training areas to support organisational quality, performance and innovation
  • Analyse levels of compliance in mandatory training areas and liaise with Senior Managers to achieve and maintain expected levels of compliance required for delivery of relevant employment programs
  • Provide feedback and recommendations on course content and structure via the appropriate channels
  • Evaluate all training activity to ensure transfer of learning, quality of the service, impact on work performance and return on investment
  • Identify when individuals require one on one coaching and where required provide appropriate support
  • Apply a range of learning and evaluation assessment methods to ensure and confirm learning outcomes are achieved
  • Engage and influence the business unit to ensure that the learning solution implemented is appropriate to achieve the identified learning objectives
  • Coach and support Managers to assist them with development of their Team Members
  • Ensure that learning and development information is communicated effectively and efficiently to Staff, Managers and relevant Stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of a culture of learning and continuous improvement
  • Role model and share best practice within the HR team as appropriate in order to drive continuous improvement and the development of MAX Solutions as a learning organisation
  • Comply with all WHS procedures ensuring that team members including volunteers and contractors abide by all relevant health and safety procedures
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviours and report all accidents, incidents or near misses immediately.

Required Experience


  • Experience in the development, delivery and evaluation of adult learning solutions
  • Experience of training design and delivery specifically in a customer service environment
  • Experience designing learning that’s delivered in a number of ways such as e-learning, virtual webinars, coaching and face to face learning
  • Proven experience in building and managing stakeholder relationships
  • Building learning solutions that are commercially-focused
  • Background in delivering a range of effective learning and development solutions in a professional manner whilst ensuring the content being delivered is in line with business needs and practices
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills
  • Demonstrated internal consulting and partnering skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and e-learning product development software (desirable)
  • Experience delivering softs skills learning
  • A high level of business acumen
  • A flexible approach to work within a constantly evolving environment.




  • Degree in Human Resources and have minimum three years L&D work experience
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable
  • Experience with Lectora or Articulate Storyline or similar is desirable.
