Position Overview

 

The purpose of the Operations Manager is to manage the operational delivery, effective delivery and meeting of Key Performance Indicators to achieve program success. You will require extensive knowledge on the key deliverables of the programme as well as well-developed people management skills. You will require influencing skills to guide the collaboration of organisations and the development of RTO Projects across multiple regions in which we operate. You will be required to ensure the program is effectively promoted to Employment Service providers, potential host organisations, the community and other stakeholders. This position will foster positive relationships with Community organisations, federally and state funded organisations and Government agencies, Employment Service Providers, the Department of Employment and the Department of Education.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

 

  • The development and management of staff in the selected regions via one on one engagement
  • Contract knowledge expert on the AMEP, SEE and PaTH contracts providing guidance
  • Provide direction, support and review of the development of key relationships within each region
  • Ensure programme efficiency’s and effectiveness by revising and managing KPI’s
  • Promote and foster the development of strong relationships that lead to quality group activities and individual placements that meet the program intent and meet the needs of local labour market, Employment Service providers, and Government
  • Promote collaboration with all stakeholders to effectively deliver the program objectives within their selected area
  • Promote collaboration within the RTO including compliance, resource development, trainer allocation and student administration
  • Direct link with the department in all selected regions
  • Liaising with National partners to develop opportunities across a number of locations working within contractual guidelines, quality systems, professional development and policies and procedures
  • Positively promote the success of the RTO projects
  • Run the ‘Heads Down’ initiative
  • Assist in the recruitment of staff members for the region
  • Ensure the smooth running of daily activities via coaching staff
  • National travel will be required
  • Other duties as directed
  • Comply with all WHS procedures ensuring that team members including volunteers and contractors abide by all relevant health and safety procedures
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviours and report all accidents, incidents or near misses immediately.

  • Knowledge of risk management approaches, including the ability to undertake risk assessments on work for the dole activities.

 

Required Experience

 

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including Anti-discrimination
  • Demonstrate experience with Equal Employment Opportunity
  • Previous experience with Occupational Health and Safety
  • Ability to adhere to Privacy and Freedom of Information is a must
  • Business development and account management
  • Previous experience with National RTO Standards and ASQA.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Business related qualifications are desired along with relevant experience in a similar role
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or higher
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Current drivers licence.
