Position Overview


The Workplace Mentor – jobactive is responsible for working closely with workers, employers, Placement Consultants, Outcome Consultants and other service providers throughout the workers journey through commencement and post placement support to ensure successful outcomes.


Key Responsibilities


  • Provide mentoring, coaching and support to workers post placement to ensure sustained employment
  • Complete Mentoring Support Plan
  • Forward employment related information received coincidentally to the mentoring activity to Trackers for their follow up and/or required action
  • Ensure comments, case notes and claims are updated in MAXTRAX
  • Ensure effective management of caseload, including exiting clients from Workplace Mentoring services where appropriate
  • Complete monthly case reviews with PCs, HSO, Trackers and BM
  • Complete weekly reports for Regional Manager
  • Subject Matter Expert on Wage Subsidies; the promoting of to employers, implementation of the paper work etc, the process around paying a wage sub and how to follow through to answer any queries
  • Coach and support Placement Consultants to sell and promote the services of the Mentor (through regular team member forums e.g. team meetings
  • Achieve and maintain knowledge of current policies ( maintaining and keeping updated on current policies, legislation  and practices)
  • Demonstrated experience building rapport with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to reach and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and MAX policies and procedures
  • Comply with all WHS procedures ensuring that team members including volunteers and contractors abide by all relevant health and safety procedures
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviours and report all accidents, incidents or near misses immediately.

Required Experience


  • Previous mentoring and/or employment services experience highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience building rapport with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work with long term unemployed
  • Ability to reach and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
  • Previous industry experience is highly desirable.

  • Must have current driving licence with no restrictions.
