Position Overview


The Lead Trainer and Assessor Foundation Programs is responsible for leading the delivery of  training for the Skills for Education and Employment and where included within the regions, training of the Adult Migrant English Programs in line with the Department of Education and Training contract requirements for the specified regions. 

This position will lead the implementation of the training delivery strategy to ensure positive performance outcomes and long term success of the organisation. 

This includes the focus on building trainer capability within the regions to support effective learning outcomes.

This position works collaboratively with others to meet the expectations of all stakeholders by focusing on quality customer service and student achievement of program outcomes.

This position may be required to travel to different sites within the regions.


Key Responsibilities


  • Promoting MAX Solutions training services and collaborating with Work Experience and Community Liaison officers and trainers and assessors to achieve exceptional customer service by supporting students to achieve successful completion of their training and attainment of required outcomes.
  • Participating in validation and review of training resources to support effective training and assessment delivery in line with contractual requirements.
  • Leading the development and growth of training service operations within the Regions and ensuring we deliver strong performance, together with quality and compliant outcomes.
  • Monitoring the completion, collection and submission of all documents and student eligibility evidence for processing through the Corporate Training Administration team by the end of each week.
  • Marking pre-entry assessment and progression assessments in line with ACSF levels and delivering training in the programs if required..
  • Monitoring of completion or the preparation of client individual pathway guide and client’s portfolio of evidence file.
  • Arranging for interpreter services for entry interview as required.
  • Monitoring activities in the ESS system in collaboration with the Corporate Administration Team to manage client interviews and pre-training assessment appointments and course commencement schedules.
  • Ensuring compliance with MAX Solutions’ training policies and procedures at all times.
  • Ensuring only current resources and documentation are being used.
  • Co-ordinating training delivery site(s) within regions to ensure all individual and region targets and KPI’s are achieved.
  • Scheduling programs and resources to ensure efficient delivery.
  • Management of Trainers and Assessors and Work Experience and Community Liaison Officer including performance reviews, feedback and performance management.
  • Maintaining professional industry and vocational currency and documenting in the PD register.
  • Submitting an up to date trainer matrix on an annual basis or as requested.
  • This role may also be required to deliver special preparatory programs including AMEP Extend and SLPET training.

Required Experience and Qualifications


  • TAE40110 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is essential for this role
  • Post-Graduate Qualification in TESOL
    • a teaching qualification such as a Bachelor of Education or equivalent which includes TESOL methodology as a major strand

or both of the following:

  • a recognised undergraduate degree or diploma - a formal qualification awarded by an Australian university or tertiary institution, or its overseas equivalent
  • a recognised undergraduate or postgraduate TESOL qualification. This qualification must include :
    • at least 100 contact hours of content focus on English language, language learning and TESOL methodology and
    • a supervised teaching practicum of at least 60 hours.
  • Previous experience working as a Trainer and Assessor
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Demonstrated vocational qualifications to the level of those being delivered and/or assessed or have relevant industry experience that will demonstrate your experience and knowledge in the field of training that you are delivering in.
  • Experience working with disadvantaged learners and learners from non-English speaking backgrounds
  • Experience working with diversity
  • Experience in planning, co-ordinating and facilitating meetings, forums and planning days
  • Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being delivered
  • Well-developed knowledge of the core employability skills framework
  • Genuine passion to assist others to build opportunities through education
  • Current drivers licence
  • Hold or have the ability to obtain Working with Children Check (or equivalent).
