Position Overview

To deliver on the National Employer Partnership Strategy, realising the vision of an employer led, market driven approach to employer servicing. Providing leadership and management for the National Partnership Management team in targeting, developing and managing new and existing strategic relationships with national employers in order to build real partnerships and deliver quality opportunities for our job-seeking customers. Enabling successful employment service programme delivery by achieving agreed objectives in line with employer specific, and wider business plans.

To work with the National Employer Operations Manager and EBC Managers to target, and engage National prospect employers and to identify new business opportunities for MAX Employment, developing new relationships to a point where and if appropriate they can be passed over to a National Partnership Manager. Ensuring at all times the appropriate operational practice is in place across the EST to deliver on our national employers expectations.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead and manage the National Partnership Managers to ensure they are building real partnerships, providing the service that has been agreed and delivering quality opportunities for our job-seeking customers by:
    • Inspiring and motivating the team to drive for results
    • Communicating a clear plan with the team
    • Building strong relationships with the team by displaying integrity and honesty at all times
  • To coach, mentor and support the National Partnership Managers to develop and maintain robust senior/board level relationships with national employers to ensure agreed levels of appropriate opportunities for MAX Employment and other specialist partners are achieved:
    • Maintain strong relationships within the Employer Service team, join negotiations at an agreed stage to gain a strong knowledge of employer opportunities and delivery expectations
    • Work with national employers to establish and agree National KPI’s/SLA’s and account plans
    • Work with national employers to agree any specialist recruitment pathways, designing and agreeing any relevant processes, toolkits
    • Have overall accountability for delivery of agreed national plans and the incremental growth in volume, quality and conversion rates of national employment opportunities
  • Work with the National Employer Operations Manager and National Partnership Managers to ensure there is a clear transition of the employer requirements and that they are communicated clearly to the relevant colleagues. Ensure all colleagues fully understand agreed processes, and have access to the required toolkits for agreed programmes
  • Provide and respond to feedback to/from the National Employer Operations Manager and EBC Managers, review plans where required and identify challenges and resolve any issues that arise
  • Develop and manage strong working relationship with all stakeholders (including GM’s, DSMs and RMs,) to ensure opportunities are actioned and filled in a timely manner
  • Manage National Partnership Managers to ensure accurate reporting of all activity and output by:
    • Provide accurate reports to employer partners at agreed timescales to include information on all key KPI indicators
    • Capture all actual and planned activity using the CRM system
    • Ensuring all other systems are kept fully up to date (e.g. MAX Connect) to provide accurate recording of national/sector performance
  • Comply with all WHS procedures ensuring that team members including volunteers and contractors abide by all relevant health and safety procedures
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviours and report all accidents, incidents or near misses immediately

  • Extensive experience of customer relationship development within specific sectors
  • Experience in maintaining long term, multi stakeholder relationships with employer partners.

Required Experience

  • Experience in managing a team
  • Experience in interview, job matching and assessment procedures
  • Experience working with special needs groups such as people with a disability, non-English speaking background, drug and alcohol dependency, homelessness, domestic violence and psychological disorders is desirable
  • Previous experience in sales and/or business development in a customer facing environment is essential.
