Position Overview


As a member of the Infrastructure Team, the Systems Administrator is responsible for the management of the organisations computer systems and needs. This includes the design, planning, development, installation, configuration, maintenance, support, and optimisation of all computer systems and applications, working closely with the other IT Teams, Audit and other corporate teams to ensure business continuity and governance to the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Emerging technology monitoring: Monitors the market to gain knowledge and understanding of currently emerging technologies. Identifies new and emerging hardware, software and service technologies and products based on own area of expertise, assesses their relevance and potential value to the organisation, contributes to briefings of staff and management
  • Information analysis: Independently validates external information from multiple sources. Specifies and applies appropriate analytical techniques and reports results to clients and management
  • Customer Service: Works with members of the business in helping resolve technical issues in a professional manner
  • IT operations: Provides technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational procedures. Uses management tools to determine network load and performance statistics. Contributes to the planning and implementation of maintenance and installation work. Implements agreed network changes and maintenance routines. Identifies operational problems and contributes to their resolution, checking that they are managed in accordance with agreed standards and procedures. Provides reports and proposals for improvement to specialists, users and managers
  • Security administration: Investigates identified security breaches in accordance with established procedures and recommends any required actions. Assists users in defining their access rights and privileges, and administers logical access controls and security systems. Maintains security records and documentation
  • Problem management: Ensures that appropriate action is taken to anticipate, investigate and resolve problems in systems and services. Ensures that such problems are fully documented within the relevant reporting system(s). Coordinates the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures. Analyses patterns and trends
  • Change management: Assesses, analyses, develops, documents and implements changes based on requests for change.
  • Comply with all WHS procedures ensuring that team members including volunteers and contractors abide by all relevant health and safety procedures
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviours and report all accidents, incidents or near misses immediately.

The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

Key Skills

 

  • Proficient in Microsoft technologies, especially HyperV, Exchange, SharePoint, VEEAM and AD in a 2012 – 2016 server environment
  • Cloud environment experience with O365, Azure, ADFS
  • SCCM with experience in SOE design, build and deploy to large distributed environment.
  • SSO and MFA authentication experience
  • Excellent diagnostic and analytical ability with strong communication skills to communicate at all levels.
  • Strong team player with excellent documentation skills
  • ITSM / Level 3 Service Management Skills
  • Business Video conferencing systems – desirable
  • Document imaging and management systems – desirable
  • Project Management – desirable.

Required Experience

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a large corporate ICT environment
  • Familiar with SOX auditing, Project management and PMBOK guidelines – desirable.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor degree in Information Technology or related discipline or equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation.
