The Management Accountant is responsible for operational and financial data collection, accuracy, recording, analysis, and presentation of the business financial operations. The Management Accountant has a variety of administrative roles within the business operations including adviser and financial interpreter, who may present the businesses financial data and will assist with quarterly and annual forecast reports and the timely payment and reconciliation of all MAX Solutions Bonus Payments. The Accountant should support Financial Planning and Forecasting Manager and promote others within Finance team focus on supporting site operations, financial performance and the organisation’s achievement of goals, whilst adhering to company policies and finance department procedures.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Prepare, implement and communicate Employment Services Annual Site Budgets/Revenue Plans across the business
  • Measure, report and communicate financial performance against forecast/budget weekly, monthly, and quarterly and annually with all key stakeholders across the business
  • Implement, analyse and provide a monthly Dashboard Report of Performance Metrics for the business and communicate with all key stakeholders across the business
  • Improve performance by providing forecasting/budget reports and tools to the business as required
  • Prepare, implement and communicate Quarterly Health State Budgets across the business
  • Act as business partner between finance and operations
  • Liaise with Finance Department Team Members, Corporate Office Staff, Regional Managers and Site Managers, Executive Team
  • Ensure a good operation of the financial side of existing projects/contracts and follow up on a regular basis
  • Continuous improvement of the current internal financial structures, procedures and practices
  • Projects as directed by Financial Planning and Forecasting Manager Contract
  • Assist in completion of Annual budgets
  • Assist in preparation quarterly forecasting reports including a comprehensive understanding of business assumptions applied
  • Other Finance Department responsibilities, as required
  • Assist System Accountant with audit duties as required
  • Comply with all WHS procedures ensuring that team members including volunteers and contractors abide by all relevant health and safety procedures
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviours and report all accidents, incidents or near misses immediately.

The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

Quality System Responsibilities

 

  • To comply with approved Quality System requirements as applicable to position responsibilities
  • Ongoing improvements in quality and timing of monthly reports and above mentioned reports
  • In conjunction with Finance team streamline month end and forecasting/budgeting processes with objective of reducing monthly reporting timeframe (subject to availability of Departmental integration data).

Standards and Regulations

 

The Management Accountant is responsible for ensuring that the following regulations, standards and codes are complied with:

  • Appropriate authority regulations
  • Relevant legal, professional and ethical obligations
  • Particular contract specifications.

 

Key Skills and Attributes

 

  • Proven ability to organise and prioritize conflicting priorities to ensure deadlines are met
  • Demonstrated experience in acting in a proactive manner to improve processes and procedures
  • Proven knowledge of accounting and management reporting principles and concepts within a commercial organisation
  • Experience with the Great Plains Financial Management System (or similar ERP System) is beneficial but not essential
  • Relevant qualifications in Accounting or Finance
  • Demonstrated experience in the completion of monthly and annual reporting commitments within tight allocated timeframes
  • Demonstrated experience in acting in a pro-active manner to manage the delivery of complete and accurate data to Finance within tight allocated timeframes
  • Proven experience in contributing to the review and improvement of policies and procedures
  • Be a team player.

 

Required Experience

 

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.

 

Qualifications (state if Mandatory)

 

  • Ideally the Management Accountant would have a Degree in Finance (Accounting)
  • CPA or CA qualification.
