    Responsibilities

    Role

This position is casual in nature and is well suited as part of your broader professional activities or where you are seeking greater flexibility.  Working as one of a large pool of contractors, assessments are offered according to your availability.

A willingness to travel to regional locations will increase the volume of possible work available to you (mileage claimable beyond 90kms per assessment. For overnight travel, accommodation and meal allowances apply).  We offer extensive peer support, professional development and flexibility, both to add to your broader professional activities or for those seeking a more flexible work life.

    Location

We require Psychologists and Speech Pathologists located across Victoria, as well as the Melbourne metropolitan area.

    Training

Comprehensive training in our processes and procedures is provided prior to coming onboard, as well as ongoing Professional Development (PD) days - free of charge, and peer support.  The training and PD days provided will add to your annual professional development requirements for the Psychology Board of Australia or Speech Pathology Australia.

    Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for these roles you must have an appropriate Australian or New Zealand work visa.

The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience

    • Psychologist with a minimum of 2 years General Registration with AHPRA OR Speech Pathologist with a minimum of 2 years experience post completion of studies and current Certified Practising Membership with SPA
    • Minimum of 12 months comprehensive experience conducting standardised assessments of children in educational settings, including providing feedback to parents and schools
    • Psychologists must have at least one of their own assessment tools (i.e. WISC-V and/or WPPSI-IV) OR have ready access to one of the aforementioned tools via their own networks; while Speech Pathologists* should have their own assessment tool/s (i.e. CELF-V and/or CASL-2 and/or TOLD) OR have ready access to one of the aforementioned tools via their own networks.
    • Well established report writing skills (quality and efficiency)
    • Thorough, with excellent attention to detail with regards to reporting of results and report writing
    • Strong assessment skills (critical thinking, gathering / analysing / synthesising information)
    • Proven IT literacy, particularly in common applications including Microsoft Office Word, email and web usage
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong administrative, communication and interpersonal skills

*There is a small library of assessments tools which may be able to be borrowed by Speech Pathologists from the MAX Solutions (previously known as Assessments Australia) office in Melbourne CBD depending on the time of year.  Typically, the Contractor is required to pick up and return a tool asap to ensure ready availability for the use of other Contractors as needed.  During the 'busy' period for the business (i.e. late April through until August/September), these tools are in high demand.

    Please note:

    • Candidates who are currently employed by DET will not be able to work in their employed network area and are required to provide written evidence from the department approving their application to become a Contract Assessor for MAX Solutions before we can consider their application for a Contract Assessor role.
