We are looking for Psychologists with current General Registration status with AHPRA or Social Workers eligible for full membership with the AASW, or other similarly tertiary qualified professionals. You will need experience completing complex trauma informed Out of Home Care (OoHC) and / or Child Protection (CP) related Assessments to join our team of Assessors performing various Child and Family Services Assessments and Reviews. 

 

The opportunity

 

These roles are as work demands and well suited to work in with your business, other part time work or an addition to your current contracting sevices.  Training and accreditation in the assessment tools will be provided. An induction, ongoing professional development and support will also be provided.

 

About you

  • Qualified Social Workers eligible for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) OR Psychologists with current AHPRA General Registration (NOTE: Candidates with other tertiary level qualifications may be considered but will need to demonstrate at least 5 years of experience as outlined below)
  • Ideally 3 years of experience autonomously conducting complex, trauma informed assessments of children living in OoHC or under CP orders
  • Step by Step Accreditation (not mandatory)
  • A sound understanding of the various legislation and standards, best practice and current research regarding trauma informed assessments
  • Strong assessment skills (critical thinking, gathering / analysing / synthesising information)
  • Strong face-to-face interviewing skills
  • Strong report writing skills (quality and efficiency)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience in working with indigenous and CALD communities is desirable but not essential
  • Understanding of the Child Safety Principles and commitment to child safety and wellbeing, including having an understanding of children's developmental needs and culturally safe practices
